Description

Essex Westford School District is seeking a collaborative and experienced educational leader to serve as the Coordinator of Multilingual and Instructional Programs.

 

This districtwide position provides leadership for multilingual learner programming, curriculum implementation, McKinney-Vento services, Consolidated Federal Grants, translation and interpretation services, and related instructional initiatives. The Coordinator works closely with district and school leaders, educators, families, and community partners to ensure that programs are effective, equitable, sustainable, and compliant with federal and state requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and continuously improving the district’s Multilingual Learner Program.
  • Supporting curriculum development, alignment, implementation, and professional learning.
  • Overseeing WIDA screening, ACCESS testing, multilingual learner data, and reporting.
  • Serving as the district’s McKinney-Vento Liaison.
  • Coordinating Consolidated Federal Grant programs and related compliance requirements.
  • Preparing and monitoring federal and state grants and program budgets.
  • Managing translation and interpretation services.
  • Supervising Multilingual Liaisons and Translators.
  • Supporting principals with the supervision and evaluation of English learner teachers.
  • Strengthening communication and engagement with multilingual students and families.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of teaching experience, preferrably EL teaching experience. Must hold a valid or expired educator license (from any state) with an EL endorsment. Must be, or be eligible to become, a licensed educator or administrator in VT.

 

Successful experience in multilingual education, curriculum and instruction, instructional leadership, federal program administration, or a related area preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, data-analysis, and program-management skills are required. Experience with WIDA, federal grants, McKinney-Vento requirements, curriculum leadership, employee supervision, and multilingual family engagement is preferred.

 

The position reports to the Director of Teaching and Learning.
