Plan and teach English language development classes for multilingual learners at varying levels of proficiency, using standards-aligned instruction to strengthen students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Partner proactively with high school content-area teachers to co-plan, differentiate instruction, and scaffold complex academic material for English Learners across all disciplines.

Serve as a dependable, engaged member of the school’s broader EL team by participating in team meetings, shared planning, progress monitoring, case consultation, and coordinated problem-solving to provide consistent services and support for multilingual learners.

Design and deliver instruction that honors and leverages the diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds of a broad spectrum of student populations. Serve as a collaborative liaison and resource within the building, advocating for EL student needs while helping colleagues implement effective language acquisition strategies. Preferred qualifications: Hold (or be eligible to hold) a valid VT educator license with K-12 ELL endorsement (3-40) Experience teaching multilingual learners at the secondary level Knowledge of English language development standards, assessment, and instructional strategies Strong collaboration, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills A commitment to culturally responsive teaching and equitable access to learning Flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues Candidates who are reflective, student-centered, and committed to helping multilingual learners succeed are encouraged to apply.
