Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an opportunity for a Job Coach to join the team at Essex High School. Job coaches assist students who are participating in the job program by evaluating their needs and progress and engaging in the creation and modification of personalized learning plans.

Primary job duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Instruct students in employability competencies individually and/or in small groups (i.e. identify strengths and values; learn interviewing skills, how to find a job, appropriate worker traits, etc.)
• Meet with students to develop and compile a work portfolio to include a resume, cover letter, and letters of recommendation.
• Instruct students in the use of public transportation, school bus, and/or walking to and from the job site.
• Provide on-site job training and support, including intensive vocational and social skills training
• Teach and model appropriate communication, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Serve as the liaison between the job site supervisor, employment coordinator, case manager, and parents.
• Provide ongoing follow-up after on-site training has been completed.
